LamasaTech tells BQ about expansion plans as tech business hits 100,000 milestone
Technology has finally caught up with one of the most iconic pieces of business kit – the signing-in book.
And the boss of innovative North East business LamasaTech has been so successful in digitising the vital information that his product has just hit a milestone with 100,000 sign-ins just months after launching.
“VisiPoint” an automated signing-in system allows business centres, corporates and schools to go paperless, with a digital sign in system that captures details of visitors when they enter and leave a building.
“We don’t want companies to lose the personal touch – we want them to be able to increase it by having time for a chat with their guests to be better informed about them and build a better relationship,” LamasaTech director Mahmoud Elsaid told BQ.
The company now has expansion plans, which could soon see VisiPoint launch overseas.
VisiPoint Visitor Management system has already signed up one of the UK’s top three energy providers and a national transportation company as well as schools, corporates, and centres in London, Leeds, and Scotland. The product has also been snapped up by schools and centres in the North East, but Mahmoud has plans to take it further afield.
“We think this is the tip of the iceberg. There will be new regulations around May next year asking for better record-keeping, so we will be adding some modules to VisiPoint that will look after contractor inductions, including videos and questions for the visitors,” said Elsaid.
“We already work in the Middle East and are looking at offices in America, so we would want to increase the 25 staff we already have. Technology has changed so many things, yet in offices right across the UK, we still see paper sign-in systems. VisiPoint aims to help businesses capture the data of their visitors, in a safe and secure system, that is very user-friendly.
Elsaid hopes to triple LamasaTech’s income from its VisiPoint product over the next year.
He said: “VisiPoint is designed to be as efficient as possible, and in the event of fire or evacuation, it is possible to access a real-time list of people in a building at any given time from any mobile device. And for schools and colleges, VisiPoint is able to read and write student attendance to most schools’ management information systems automatically which is something that will help with safeguarding.”
